How do you photograph weddings?
I love being by your side to help you on your wedding day. (I can tell when a bride needs water). As soon as you book I will send you a questionnaire to learn a little bit more about your perfect day. I then create your personal wedding guide to help you organize your day, the wedding party, the vendors, It's all in there! I love to suggest the best moments for the couple photos, the different lights... and it's really exciting for me to receive photos of your dress, shoes, invites...! About a week before your wedding I love to meet face to face so you aren't meeting a stranger on your already highly emotional day. We will go over the "must have" photos you would like to get and finalize the days schedule. On your wedding day, all I want to capture is the feelings, the mood, the emotions, the calm and crazy moments and all the details that make your wedding unique. But I am a sucker for the traditional so we will take time and get everyone in the photos, even sweet grandma.
Where are you based and do you travel?
We are located in Pratt Kansas, with our second home in Macon County Missouri-and yes I love to travel! If you want us to photograph your story, it will require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place. But no worries, We always try to find the cheapest way to come because we know the investment a wedding day is for the bride and groom. Please go ahead and send us an inquiry and we will be so happy to work up an estimated cost for travel.
How many photos will we receive?
A very general answer would be around 100 per hour. We walk away from our wedding day with thousands of photos, and do a very thorough job of culling out all the closed eyes, middle of sentences mouths, unflattering chins, eye rolls, frowns, and just generally unforgiving photos. What you get are all the rest. The casual moments, the posed moments, the details, the emotions.
When will we get our photos?
Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 8 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your story). You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints!
What if I have a middle of the night realization?
Haha, text it. In the weeks coming up to your wedding I am available to answer questions, modify schedules, discuss details, you get the gist. I pride myself in being available to my bride and groom to be as we approach your special day. Just email or text me those questions and during business hours I will be happy to respond and made any adjustments you need!
The party is just getting started and your leaving?
The cake is cut, the toasts are made, and now it's time to dance... But the photographer is cutting out? If we have underestimated your need for service time and you decide that you must have photos, that isn't a problem at all!! We charge an hourly rate of $100 over and above our contractual shooting time, and would gladly stay for as long as you need us. The photos will not be released until the additional invoice has been paid in full. Please remember the $100 an hour isn't simple for clicking the shutter on my camera. It covers the additional time that I will spend in post production editing all those extra photos.
You are the photographer of our dreams, but Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely. Weddings are stressful, expensive, but a once in a lifetime event that you will always treasure looking back on. We can definitely set payments up so that you can use the months before your wedding to pay on the balance owed before all the expenses hit at once closer to the actual wedding day.
Who makes up your team?
Included in our package pricing will be myself as the lead photographer and my husband as an associate photographer and "casual" videographer. We do not guarantee high quality and mastered videography, however he is always rolling video with a Go-Pro Hero 11 and aerial video of the venue. We like to make a "reel" of sorts for a clients to relive special moments from their day.
Should you want (and trust me you want her) a second lead photographer- we work very closely with the talented Sherrie Jackson of Studio281 Photos to provide the ultimate coverage of your wedding day. Having two lead shooters enables us to be with both the bride and the groom while everyone is getting ready, you get photographers on both sides of the ceremony (looking down the aisle at the bride coming in, looking up the aisle at the groom's reaction) a photographer with the bridal party, a photographer with the groom and groomsmen, quick and efficient capture of all the details that went into creating your gorgeous ceremony and reception, and a well oiled machine that have been working together for YEARS making sure the posed photos are perfection, the schedule runs on time, and not a moment is missed.
